Job Overview

CEP is actively seeking a Social Media & Public Relations Intern to support its social media presence.  The ideal candidate would be a junior or senior college student who is interested in marketing, communications or advertising.  The Intern will gain hands-on training and experience in the field of event planning, social media and public relations. Candidate must be positive, highly energetic and committed.  Candidate must also be able to multitask, problem-solve and work both proactively and reactively.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee CEP’s Instagram, Facebook & Twitter social media platforms

  • Pitch social media plans for clients

  • Pitch media ideas for events  

  • Assist with organizing and preparing press kits and other documents

  • Assist with writing press releases

  • Assist with building the media plans

  • Assist with providing recommendations for pre-and post-event communications

  • Assist with tracking and clipping all event press coverage

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Excellent computer and writing skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and proficiency using internet-based programs

  • Successful use of Canva/Over

  • Ability to use programs such as Buffer or Hootsuite

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is helpful

  • Reliable, self-motivated and independent worker who is also comfortable working in small and large group situations, as well as various work environments

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
