Job Overview

CEP is actively seeking a positive, outgoing intern who aspires to become an event planner.  The ideal candidate is organized, enthusiastic, and able to see opportunities in obstacles. Interns should be able to commit 20 hours per week, mostly in the evenings/after hours to help with events, plus occasional in-office hours. Interns would have the opportunity to attend assigned CEP events and receive first-hand learning experience into the world of event planning.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist in the coordination of event details such as decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material, etc.

  • Coordinate travel arrangements for Executive Leadership Team, and staff to/from events as needed

  • Create daily and weekly show schedule

  • Assist with coordination of event supplies purchasing and shipping

  • Prepare and manage event registration, including name badges, branding, logistics, etc.

  • Administrative support pertaining to event planning, promotion, and communication

  • Providing administrative support for day-to-day operations when needed

  • Must be organized, self-motivated, and have an amazing “can do” attitude

  • Must be hungry to learn; what you put into this will have a direct correlation to what you get out of it

  • Flexibility and adaptability to a fast-paced work environment

  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements

  • Excellent verbal communication, computer and writing skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and proficiency using internet based programs

  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.

  • Very strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Love of learning and pride in resourcefulness - if you don't know how to do something, you figure it out or you know who to ask
